SoieScents began with a simple question: why should the most luxurious thing you wear in your hair smell of nothing at all?
A Sunday morning, a silk pillowcase, and an idea.
It started the way most good ideas do — quietly, without fanfare. Our founder, Lauraine, had spent years working in fragrance, surrounded by the world's most beautiful scents. But it was a Sunday morning at home, tying her hair back with a silk scrunchie before her coffee had even brewed, that the idea arrived.
She noticed how the silk felt — impossibly soft, cool against her skin, gentle on her hair. And she thought: what if it also carried a scent? Not a heavy perfume, but something delicate. Something that moved with you through the day, a private fragrance that was yours alone.
Six months of experimentation later, SoieScents was born. The first batch was made in her kitchen. The first fifteen customers were her friends. Within a year, there was a waiting list.
Not all silk is created equal.
We use only 22 momme mulberry silk — the same weight used in the finest silk pillowcases and luxury lingerie. It is heavier, denser, and far more lustrous than the silk used in most hair accessories. It is also genuinely gentle: the smooth surface creates almost no friction, which means less breakage, less frizz, and a finish that looks as good at the end of the day as it did at the beginning.

Every SoieScents fragrance is developed with the same rigour as a fine perfume. We work with independent perfumers to create compositions that are complex, lasting, and genuinely beautiful — not the synthetic sweetness of most scented accessories.
Our cold-press infusion method preserves the integrity of each fragrance, allowing it to release slowly and naturally throughout the day. The result is a scent that feels like it belongs to you — not something you put on, but something that simply is.
